The series of paintings Anthropocene (2019) by award-winning artist Zoran Poposki FRSA focuses on large-scale portraits of some of the most endangered animal species on the planet due to human activity.

Contemporary human impact on the Earth's ecosystems and even its geology is so immense it has led to the emergence of a new epoch in the Geologic time scale, namely the human epoch named Anthropocene. The Anthropocene epoch is marked by diminishing biodiversity and increasing pressure on ecosystems and the climate as a direct result of human action.

The paintings in the series combine fluorescent-coloured vocabulary of elements mined from various cultural traditions, from classical Chinese ink painting to the Renaissance genius Albrecht Dürer to Golden Age Dutch painting, executed in Poposki's signature post-pop visual style.
